96

96 today!  A little birthday celebration with the Chairman.  Happy Birthday to my Grandpa, Fred Sr. (here with my dad, me and my little nugget).  Four generations.  A family business I'm so proud to be a part of the love and hard work.  And here we were a year ago today.

Quilt

A little love for the Great Lakes or Upper Midwest here.  Check these limited edition, custom quilts.  A killer collection of handcrafted, quilted maps representing various cities and neighborhoods.  The work of Emily Fischer.  A Brooklyn based artist/architect.  A kickass creation that will last for generations.  Check them at Haptic Lab.

Exterior Metals

A couple fresh, exterior details from this Texas style Ranch compound that I'd like to work into some projects.  In the above shot I love the use of the chain link as the downspout.  A sweet, rustic design element that compliments the industrial vibe.

And of course the outdoor shower.  Simplistic with the corrugated metal and galvanized piping.  The added touch of the saloon-style door just completes the look.

Norwegian Farmhouse

They call it the modern farmhouse.  The inspiration comes from an old barn that is adjacent to this bad boy.

A wide open floor plan, crazy floor to ceiling windows and some nice loud colors.  This is all about the modern vibe.
Clad in wood throughout.  Smooth, raw plywood on the interior and old, weathered barn wood on the exterior.  A cool mesh of styles and textures.
